16th Sawonjo/Aradokun Day 2025 Begins
••••••••• To Lunch 10 Milllion Naira Appeal Fund For The Completion of Ultra Modern Palace of Olu of Sawonjo.
As organisers of the annual Aradokun Day Festival gear up for the 16th edition of the cultural celebration, foremost spirit brand, the Committee Members of the festival has made their readiness to make this year celebration a memorable one.
This collaboration, according to the Chairman Organizing Committee, Chief Dauda Obayomi and Adele Oba of Sawonjo, Chief Mueeb-deen Mulero promises this year’s festival will to be a memorable and vibrant occasion. The Aradokun day Festival, an integral part of the Yewa people’s cultural heritage, is celebrated annually in Sawonjo, Yewa North local government areas Ogun State, to honour the legendary Aradokun meaning that (ARA-DE-OKUN), a renowned hero of Sawonjo who was a renowned hunter that killed only wild game like Elephant, Lion, Tiger etc... The Founder and first settler migrated from ATIBA FAMILY in Oyo.
The historical events of Sawonjo Aradokun day festival will comes up on the 19th April 2025 at Olu of Sawonjo Palace (New Site) by 11:00am. All Regbe Regbe means Associations must be seated by 10:00am before the arrival of our Royal father and Chief host of the day, HRM Oba Micheal Ayinde Oderinde, Kuyadi 1, Olu of Sawonjo.
OLOKISI night will comes up on Friday 18th April 2025 at Oja-Ale/Market Square ground.
Also the Publicity Committee led by the BOBA-JIRO of Sawonjo, Chief Idowu Rotimi said this festival will unites thousands of Sawonjo sons and daughters, as well as Cultural dancing like Bolojo, Gelede and Egungun dancing from around the town to commemorate the remarkable legacy and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the town.
